ABOUT THE PERFORMERS

Eileen Laverty

Eileen has entertained audiences across Canada and abroad with her soulful voice and heartfelt lyrics. Originally from Belfast, Northern Ireland, Eileen’s family emigrated to Canada when she was six and, while she calls herself a Prairie girl, her Irish roots run deep. With her signature blend of folk, Celtic, and contemporary sounds, Eileen’s music speaks to themes of love, hope, and resilience, resonating deeply with listeners of all ages.

Eileen’s music has been featured in film and television programs, and landed her performances with a diverse range of artists, including the late country legend Kenny Rogers, rocker Tom Cochrane, Canadian tenor John McDermott, and the Saskatoon Symphony Orchestra. Her songs have been covered by other artists–most notably, John McDermott and Irish star Mary Black.

In recent years, her career on the folk music stage has transformed into one that also includes composing for theatre and performing with the symphony, and she has lent her voice to some emotional storytelling projects. Eileen has been a featured performer with the Saskatoon Symphony Orchestra, most recently as part of the YXE Divas (2024), a pop concert showcasing distinct musical styles and voices. Eileen created the soundtrack for Daniel MacDonald’s play,Blow Wind, exploring themes of love and forgiveness, which premiered at Dancing Sky Theatre and was subsequently published in 2023. Eileen’s song, Close to Home, helped families share their stories of palliative care for the St. Paul’s Hospital Foundation campaign to build a much-needed hospice in Saskatoon in 2021.

Eileen’s music reflects a broad range of influences and inspiration and is rooted in her love of a
good story, but it’s her pure clear voice that is her calling card.
