JOB DESCRIPTION:

Job Title: Bookkeeper
Location: Station Arts Centre Cooperative – Rosthern, SK
Employment Type: Permanent Part-time
Hours: 10 – 15 hours per week
Salary: Dependant upon experience

Job Summary:
The Bookkeeper at Station Arts Centre Cooperative will be responsible for maintaining
financial records, ensuring compliance with government and nonprofit financial regulations,
and supporting grant tracking and reporting, while working in a team environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain financial records, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and bank reconciliations, while ensuring accuracy and compliance with nonprofit accounting standards.
  • Prepare financial statements, reports, and assist with budgeting, as required by the Administrator and Board.
  • Integrating financial transactions from other platforms including but not limited to Square and Audienceview.
  • Track and manage grant funding, ensuring proper documentation and reporting for Canadian Arts Data (CADAC), Canada Arts Presentation Fund (CAPF), and other funding bodies.
  • Ensure compliance with Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) regulations, including tax filings and nonprofit financial reporting.
  • Support audits and provide necessary documentation for Provincial Audit requirements.
  • Collaborate with leadership to improve financial processes and ensure compliance with Indigenous Arts Collective (IAC) and Statistics Canada (Stats Can) reporting standards.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Diploma in Accounting, or related field.
  • Proven bookkeeping experience, preferably within a nonprofit or arts organization.
  • Knowledge of Saskatchewan nonprofit financial regulations and grant management.
  • Knowledge of and experience with QuickBooks.
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to meet deadlines.
  • Experience working in a team-oriented, community-based environment.
  • Effective communication skills for financial reporting and coordination with leadership.

Preferred Experience:

  • Familiarity with arts administration and nonprofit financial management.
  • Experience managing grants and sponsorship funds.
  • Understanding of charitable organization compliance in Saskatchewan.
