Opening Celebration: Thursday, July 23 | 7:00 pm
Join us for an evening of art, conversation, and community as we celebrate the opening of Where the Road Meets the Canvas, a solo exhibition by acclaimed Saskatchewan artist Cam Forrester. Meet the artist, explore the exhibition, and discover the stories behind landscapes inspired by years of painting Canada’s diverse terrain. Admission is free, and everyone is welcome.
About the Exhibition
For Cam Forrester, the journey is just as important as the destination. Much of his work begins outdoors, painting en plein air alongside fellow artists in some of Canada’s most remarkable landscapes. These on-location studies become the inspiration for larger studio paintings that capture not only the places he has visited, but the experience of being there.
This exhibition brings together both plein air works and larger studio pieces, highlighting the relationship between painting on location and transforming those moments into finished works. Bold colour, thoughtful design, and expressive landscapes invite viewers to experience the beauty of the Canadian landscape through the eyes of an artist who has spent decades exploring it.
About the Artist
Cam Forrester has been creating art since 1976 and became a full-time professional artist in 2017 following a career in architecture and the golf industry. He is a member of The Men Who Paint, a group of artists dedicated to painting outdoors across Canada and beyond. Together, they travel several times each year, seeking inspiration in remote and iconic landscapes.
Cam has participated in more than 70 solo and group exhibitions in Canada and internationally. His work is represented by five galleries and can be found in private, corporate, and museum collections, including the Mann Art Gallery in Prince Albert and the Parks Canada Permanent Collection.
Artwork will be available for purchase throughout the exhibition.
