From the company that brought you last summer’s smash hit, Where You Are
Channel Theatre returns to the Station Arts stage with another uproarious comedy, Stag and Doe, by prolific Canadian playwright Mark Crawford.
Bonnie and Brad are getting married in a few weeks, and the budget for their big day is out of control. Mandy and Rob’s high-class wedding starts in a few hours, but their fancy white tent blew away in last night’s storm. Maid-of-Honour Dee is still getting over being left at the altar seven years ago. And Jay just found out his entire catering staff is in jail!
Among the unset Jell-o shots, a missing wedding cake, and a disastrous first dance, past relationships are examined, promises are put to the test, and new romance blossoms. It’s all happening at the same time, in the same town, in the same community hall kitchen.
A laugh-filled look at a rural Canadian prenuptial tradition that shines a light on the nature of love, marriage and weddings. “There are plenty of laugh-out-loud moments in Stag and Doe. But the play also pops the big question: are weddings really about a single day, or a lifetime?” – The Coast
