Last summer we began The Red Chair Project. We invited a group of artists to paint individuals from Rosthern and the surrounding area. They had to paint one sitter an hour for 3 hours. All of the completed portraits were then on display as a mural in downtown Rosthern in the Friesen’s Bigway window. The making of this mural was a fun and interactive event and the result was a collective work of art that celebrates the diversity and richness of our community. However – we are not finished yet! Friday July 8th near the Rosthern Farmer’s Market, we will once more Community Portrait project and have your portrait painted – please apply now!
