The Station is excited to bring Persephone Youth Tour back to our stage! We have school groups coming to watch the show but we still have some seats available at both the morning and afternoon showtimes. If you have young people in your life that would enjoy this show or if you are young at heart, you are welcome to come at either showtime for just $8 per person.
Persephone Theatre is delighted to be presenting this beautiful production – that interweaves Indigenous traditions and beliefs – from Manitoba Theatre for Young People and Castlemoon Theatre.
DEMOGRAPHICS: Elementary Grades K-6 SHOW DESCRIPTION: Frozen River – nîkwatin sîpiy in Cree, Grandmother Moon tells the story of two eleven-year-olds, born under the same blood moon, but in different parts of the world. Set in a forest, destined to become Manitoba, this new play follows their stories as they meet, and that of their descendants who meet in the present day. A broken promise from the past can be righted when there is finally an openness to learn from those who have protected and honoured the waterways for centuries. This is a presentation of the production from Manitoba Theatre for Young People and Castlemoon Theatre.
THEMES: Indigenous traditions and beliefs; appreciating the land; learning cultural differences; immigration; colonization; privilege; friendship. Languages: English, Cree and Gaelic.
