Learn the art of Junk Journal making in this class and discover endless possibilities!
Learn how to create your own up cycled journal. What you put in this book is limited only by imagination! In this class you will build your journal, make a cover, bind page signatures, sew it together and embellish in your own style. You can choose from a variety of materials that appeal to your taste; vintage hard cover, minimal and sleek or bursting with colour & texture!
Upcycle your thrifting finds! What are junk journals used for? Art journaling, Recipe Book, Travel Journal, Diary, Garden Planner, a Memory Book and more! Once you take this 3 session class – you will have the knowledge to create any number of journals on your own. Using recycled materials is a great way to make a unique and useful book in an environmentally conscious way.
Kate Kading will be the instructor for this class. The freedom and variety of techniques Junk Journals offer speak to Kate’s vintage, grunge aesthetic and the opportunity to turn trash into treasure makes life richer. There has been a natural progression to this point where Kate started with scrapbooking at a tiny store right here in Rosthern, graduated to building her own mini albums from scratch, collecting supplies for pocket journalling, dabbling in hybrid scrapbooking, and now turns old books designed for the bin into travel, garden, and gratitude journals. Beauiful things can come from the junkiest places!
