THREADS

September, 2016

Thread is one of the humblest yet possibly most versatile of mediums, making a mark in traditional and contemporary arts and crafts practice. THREADS, the exhibit, features fabric and fibre work of Rosthern and area artisans. The use of thread can be seen in a variety of genre: applique, crocheting, cross stitch, embroidery, felting and fibre, knitting, thread painting, quilts, and weaving. The presentation of textile work varies with time and through cultural influence, as well as for function or decoration.
