Homeland: A Collection of Prairie Threadpaintings June 27 - August 26 Work by Monika Kinner-Whalen, as well as Postcards to the Station and work by local potters. From Humble Beginnings, 2013 Show Statement for the Artist: This collection of work explores my own intimate connection with the prairie landscape where I grew up. I express my connection to my homeland with needle and thread, combining freestyle machine sewing and hand embroidery on fabric. Each landscape I stitch holds a memory of a moment in time. My love runs deep for all seasons, and I am ever grateful for the ever changing palette before me.
